Reef Christmas 2011

Happy New Year to all! We hope that you all had a good one, and got everything you wanted.

After a lovely break, we have all returned to the office ready for the new year! And then (thanks to Rowan putting images on our server) we all remembered our Christmas party in Copenhagen. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a big party at Reef. All braving our Christmas jumpers, we got on the 8:45am flight to Copenhagen and once we had booked in to our hotel, we walked straight up to Tivoli Gardens.

Tivoli was fantastic, it really felt like Christmas with Mulled Wine, a Christmas Tree on every corner and some fast rides. Some were braver than others, but we all had a go on the bumper cars (I think Brad, our Creative Director was the target!). Afterwards we went for drinks in a bar and then to ‘Cocks and Cows’, a burger and cocktail restaurant, where the brave amongst us took turns in trying the hottest chili we have ever eaten. Then into the night to a variety of bars and into the early hours.

We all had a fantastic time (with a few sore heads the next day) and it was a great way to round off the year.

Our Christmas Tree

Christmas really has come at Reef now! In keeping with the festive spirit, Brad came in on Friday with our Christmas tree! Everyone downed tools and started to decorate it straight away and our effort is attached below!

Mince Pies have been full force in the office, along with our preferred choice (Sainsburys Taste The Difference are currently winning) and we are all looking forward to our Christmas party in Copenhagen.

Happy Christmas everybody!

Figleaves Tube Campaign

Some of you may have seen our latest photography on the tube over the past few weeks. Figleaves have placed a series of adverts throughout the underground to push their Christmas campaign. So far, the ads have had a fantastic response through twitter and seem to have raised a few eyebrows with the London commuters – some of the responses are below:

‘Checkout the figleaves.com advert on the tube. Ooooh. #figleaves’

‘Statistics today showed a 57% increase in male London Underground commuters bumping into each other following new Figleaves poster campaign.’

‘Must not stare at the figleaves advert on the tube.. Must not.. Must not.. Must.. Must.. Wait.. What?!?’

‘Thank you person who made the figleaves.com tube advert’

Its fantastic that the ad has received such a great response, and the positive feedback (along with thanks from the client) is always brilliant for us to hear!

Christmas is Coming at Reef

On a separate note from work (which we are keeping busy with!) we have just booked our Christmas party to Copenhagen! Leaving on the 22nd December in the morning, we will be flying over and spending the afternoon in Tivoli Gardens, before heading to dinner and hitting the town!

We are all very excited at the Reef offices – it feels like the Christmas countdown really has begun!

On a separate (but related note) Will lost at fusball the other day, and the forfit is to buy mince pies for the office. We will be printing off our yearly mince pie chart and judging which brand of mince pies are the best this year. Our money is on the most boozy.

Behind the Scenes – Crew Clothing

Whilst our family and friends are looking forward to Christmas, at Reef we are now looking forward to the Spring and Summer seasons!

Last week, Brad and the crew braved the weather (sun, rain and hail) and stepped aboard a boat for the Crew Clothing GBR Spring shoot.

The shots look fantastic, with the weather really helping to highlight the rugged attributes of the clothing. Our behind the scenes shots are below and towards the end of the day, the crew were treated to a rainbow for all their hard work.

Behind the scenes – Ideal Standard

Its been a busy few weeks at Reef with our photoshoot for Ideal Standard. Quote approved, we have been busy designing and building sets for the UK, France and Germany for some up-coming brochures. You can see the set building team below, hard at work.

The shoot is nearly finished, and the images will be going in to post production, in preparation for the brochures to hit early next year! We’re all looking forward to seeing these printed.

Goodbye Sarah, Hello Gwynne, Hello Helen

There has been a few changes to the Reef offices over the last few weeks. Firstly, Helen Morton has returned from her Maternity leave, and is back with us 4 days a week. She has settled back in quickly, and needless to say, people are now drinking a lot more tea!

Our new recruit is Gwynne. Gwynne has spent the last few years freelancing, working at some top agencies and has joined Reef as a Creative Artworker. Whilst his work has been great all week, his fusball skills need a lot of improvement!

Lastly, Sarah is leaving us (last day today). Sarah joined us 2 years ago and in her time at Reef she has been a real creative input to our clients. We will all miss her in the office, but we won’t miss her making her noisy lattes! Good luck Sarah, we have all enjoyed working with you.

Friday fusball league

Fusball is an important thing amongst some of us here at Reef – we all play very competitively against each other and we thought one of the best things to do was start up a league. Each Friday we will be updating the league with the results over the week with the winner and more importantly, the loser.

There will be a forfeit for the loser, whether this is a round of tea for the office or pizzas for us all if there has been a crushing defeat. Results so far this week are as follows:

Rowan – 6 points

Adam – 6 points

Franco – 6 points

Will – 5 points

Archie – 0 points

Archie has sneakily gone on holiday today, but it looks like he is buying the pizzas when he gets back!

Will’s got engaged!

Will went off to France for a week and came back engaged! He proposed to his ‘fiancee’ Becky on the beach and then cracked open the champagne (as she fortunately said yes). No date in the diary yet, but we could be looking at a Christmas 2012 wedding. In true Reef style we all went to the pub to celebrate last Friday (which also seemed to be our last warm weekend). Here we all are at the local pub – lovely way to spend Friday lunchtime.

Our Studio

We are all excited about our new photography studio at the Reef offices, and we have been shooting lots for our clients. You can see Brad below, shooting for Crucial Trading as part of their latest campaign.

The studio has helped us to keep full creative control over projects and we love the flexibility the studio gives us (as do our clients). Our studio is now getting busy, and over the last month we have shot flats, mannequins, models and set builds. If you have any products that you would like us to shoot, please call Reef on 01483 238900.
